"Connection timed out" in PVE during PMG installation

Hello,

my plan is to evaluate Proxmox mail gateway on a small test machine. PVE is up and running fine, but I'm not managing to add a VM with PMG. I both tried the installer ISO's for 7.0-1 and 7.1-1. After creating the VM the installer starts normally. I can go through the steps of the installer up to the IP address and afterwards the installer starts. But always somewhere during installation of all the packages the installer immediately stops, the VM ist stopped and the task history claims "Error: connection timed out".

Any idea?

Works here - what's the configuration of the VM in PVE?
(my first guess would be that it has too little memory assigned - try with at least 4G)
