Confused with RAID storage usage

I have 5 4TB drives in a RAIDZ2 setup. On there I have a single pool, which contains a single 8TB virtual hard drive that goes to vmid 100.

However, since creation Proxmox is saying that the storage is full

Usage 99.07% (11.59 TB of 11.70 TB)

lsblk inside the VM:

sdb 8:16 0 7.8T 0 disk
└─vg_hdd-lv_hdd 252:1 0 7.8T 0 lvm /mnt/hdd

if I dive into the ZFS infos I get

root@pve:~# zpool list
NAME SIZE ALLOC FREE CKPOINT EXPANDSZ FRAG CAP DEDUP HEALTH ALTROOT
hdd 18.2T 14.6T 3.62T - - 0% 80% 1.00x ONLINE -

root@pve:~# zfs list
NAME USED AVAIL REFER MOUNTPOINT
hdd 10.5T 102G 170K /hdd
hdd/vm-100-disk-0 10.5T 2.02T 8.62T -

Where's the missing storage gone? Can I somehow make the 3.6T (or 2T?) usable?

Hi,

on a hunch, have you checked for snapshots on the zpool, using zfs list -t snapshots? Or even zfs list -t all to list all types.

Hey,

There are no snapshots present, other than a VM template

root@pve:~# zfs list -t snapshot
NAME USED AVAIL REFER MOUNTPOINT
rpool/data/base-900-disk-0@__base__ 8K - 2.69G -
root@pve:~#

Here's also the output of -t all, in case it might help

root@pve:~# zfs list -t all
NAME USED AVAIL REFER MOUNTPOINT
hdd 10.5T 102G 170K /hdd
hdd/vm-100-disk-0 10.5T 2.01T 8.63T -
