  1. A fresh install of a Proxmox v1.4 with all updates was done.
  2. A single VM container of Joomla was started.
  3. A backup of the container was taken and place in the local hard disk itself (a 1.5 TB Seagate HDD).
  4. The container was stopped and removed.
  5. Proxmox was shutdown.
Norton Ghost 11.5 was used to take a backup.
Backup Time: 1 min 43 secs
Backup Size: 980 MB
Restore Time: 18 mins 40 secs
The restored copy did not work as LVM2 was nt properly restored by Ghost 11. The /etc/mtab file was missing the last 2 lines in bold blue below:
Code:
/dev/pve/root / ext3 rw,errors=remount-ro 0 0
tmpfs /lib/init/rw tmpfs rw,nosuid,mode=0755 0 0
proc /proc proc rw,noexec,nosuid,nodev 0 0
sysfs /sys sysfs rw,noexec,nosuid,nodev 0 0
procbususb /proc/bus/usb usbfs rw 0 0
udev /dev tmpfs rw,mode=0755 0 0
tmpfs /dev/shm tmpfs rw,nosuid,nodev 0 0
devpts /dev/pts devpts rw,noexec,nosuid,gid=5,mode=620 0 0
[B][COLOR=blue]/dev/mapper/pve-data /var/lib/vz ext3 rw 0 0[/COLOR][/B]
[B][COLOR=blue]/dev/sda1 /boot ext3 rw 0 0[/COLOR][/B]
grub kept complaining near the end of the boot that /dev/mapper/pve-data was not mounted. The partitions were exposed and no LVM was visible - Logical Volume Group "pve" not available - error.

Acronis 8.1 Enterprise was tried:
Backup Time: 6 Hours
Backup Size: 8.67 GB
Never tried a restore as the backup took so long - sector by sector - since it assumed that the disk was corrupt, not properly recognising LVM2. The restore should have worked on a sector by sector restore - not worth the wait.

CloneZilla v1.2.2-31 (Live CD) was done following the guide:
Backup Time: 18 mins
ISO creation time: 12 mins
ISO size: 1.2 GB (Image size: 1.1 GB)
Restore time: 12 mins.
