I have a PVE 7.1 here on a 3Ware RAID (9650SE-8M). Three 1TB are configured to a RAID5. So 2TB arrive in the OS.
Since the 3DM2 software is no longer available as a DEB, I cannot expand the RAID with a fourth SSD.
I have to delete the RAID volume and create it again with 4 x 1TB SSD. Before that, I want to create a complete image with Clonezilla.
I boot Clonezilla and attach an empty 3TB USB disk to the host. A device-to-device does not work because the target disk is supposedly too small, which cannot be the case. So I format the USB disk with ext4 and try Device-to-Image. The creation of the image runs through. However, the subsequent check aborts. Allegedly, pve/data and pve/root could not be checked.
Of course, I don't dare delete the RAID volume with such an image.
What do I have to consider if I want to create a 1:1 clone of PVE with Cloenzilla?
