Cloning Issues

I have setup a VM with a full installation of Windows 7 without issue. I am running into issues cloning the drive though.

The cloned drive will not boot. It tells me there is nothing to boot.

In other clone instances, the clone drive will boot back to the initial Windows Installation screen and I'll have to install Windows all over again.

I can't seem to get an exact clone from the original which is what I am looking for.

Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.

What is with restore to another vmid and change the vmdates? Does this work?

When I clone the drive, I choose a different VMID.

I'm not sure what you mean by changing VM dates. The only options I see are the following: Target Node, VM ID, Name, Mode, Snapshot, Resource Pool, & Target Storage.

Can you explain VM dates?
