Check owner

I feel like I've read every post here in the forum regarding owner check, but I can't find a solution.
PVE makes the backups on the local network to a PBS, then I have a VPS with PBS that pulls the backups from the PBS at home.
I tried a few things until I got it set up, and now I have the following problem.

Code:
2025-07-27T17:19:10+02:00: sync group vm/101 failed - owner check failed (root@pam != sync@pbs)

I don't know where I can change the sync@pbs, I deleted the pull job, deleted the backups and started again but no improvement

HI,
you can change the owner of a backup group by selecting the backup group (vm/101) in the WebUI of the sync target and edit the owner by clicking on the person icon right next to it.
By this, you can change the ownership to sync@pbs

in the WebUI of the sync target
in my case I make a backup with the PVE on my local PBS and the VPS PBS pull the data from the local PBS.
On the VPS PBS there is no backup With vm/101.
On the local PBS the owner is pvehome@pbs that look correct because all other CT have the same owner.
Don't know where the PBS get the sync@pbs.

Then there might be an empty backup group, still lingering (there was an issue, fixed already https://bugzilla.proxmox.com/show_bug.cgi?id=3336).
You will have to manually remove the backup group folder for vm/101 on your sync target then. Got to the cli and navigate to the datastore's base folder.
In there you should have a vm/101 folder (if you are not using namespaces, otherwise it is located in the sub-namespace, to be found under ns).
