Hello,
In our current setup the iscsi (vmbr0) and lan (vmbr1) of our proxmox servers are in the same IP range, but as read on the forums this might not be a good idea.
(ISCSI network needs to be separate, no? Does this mean a separate Ip range or a separate switch?)
If a separate Ip range is needed, what scenario would fit?
All our VM disks are on a LVM on the iSCSI openfiler box.
Scenario 1:
- shutdown all VM's
- change IP of the openfilerbox and vmbr0
- change IP of ISCSI storage in the Proxmox web interface
although this seems impossible cause it's all greyed out.
Will this work? Looks like it's not working.
Scenario 2:
- shutdown all VM's
- remove LVM volume in the webinterface
- remove iSCSI volume
- change IP of the openfilerbox and vmbr0
- create iSCSI storage again
- create LVM storage again
BUT...
- If I remove the iSCSI and LVM volume, will the VM disks be retained?
Will all Vm's find their disks back?
Does anyone has a good solution to get this working?
Or should I implement the new IP range at the LAN side?
(which means setting up copiers and printers again)
all input is welcome.
Kindly regards,
Ellen
