TLDR: Change IP/gateway on PC, unit no longer reachable, or pingable.
Preface: I am very new to Proxmox. Using Proxmox UI (no experience in command line).
Setup: Dell Wyse, ProxmoxVE install on bare metal. Original install on IP 192.168.1.155/24. Worked a peach!
Issue: Added a new VLAN to the network (Gateway: 192.168.30.1/24) Wanted to change my unit to from my original install at IP 192.168.1.155/24 to 192.168.30.3/24.
Now the unit is unreachable at the new IP, or the old IP...
L3 Switch shows Wyse reporting new IP 192.168.30.3, but I cannot ping it!?
How can I gain access to my unit to fix anything?
What I did:
-Unit/Network/vmbr0: changed IP: 192.168.30.3/24 Gateway: 192.168.30.1.
-Pressed ok, pressed Apply configuration.
-Changed port on L3 switch to new VLAN.
-Configuration was taking a while so thought I was disconnected, due to multiple changes.
-Hard restart of unit.
-Cannot log in with new 192.168.30.3, or old 192.168.1.155.
-Tried multiple configurations of pinging new old addresses while changing VLAN port config on switch... Nothing...
Notes: Have a second Wyse. with a 2nd NIC, and did this change, but new nic was changed to old IP at the same time, so was able to log in. Can log into this unit on both IP addresses no trouble at all. Problem Wyse only has one NIC...
-On the local display, it is asking me to connect to the old http://192.168.1.155:8006 address.
