HI. I have a Proxmox server installed in a dual CPU server. The Proxmox itself is installed in a SSD drive and, as storage, I have a 2 TB, 3.5" mechanical SATA drive.
The storage of the 2 TB HD started to fill up, so I decided to change it for two 3.5" SATA HDs of 8TB each.
What I did so far is to add one of the 8 TB drives and clone all the LCX and VMs, on the 2 TB drive, to the new 8tb drive. I leave the LCX and VMs on the 2 TB drive powered off and all the LCX and VMs copied to the 8 TB drive powered on and working fine.
What I would like to know is how do I disconnect the 2 TB drive safely in order to add the second 8tb drive (the server case only have space for two 3.5" HDD).
For what I know, I should go to the "Datacenter" section of the web console, then go to "Storage", then select the 2 TB drive and push the "Remove" button. Then I should power off the server, remove the 2 TB Drive and install the second 8 TB drive. Is that correct? That's the safest procedure to change the drives?
Thank you all in advance for your time and kind answer.
