I'd like to test Proxmox/Ceph in a nested environment
but it seem I cannot create OSD because I dont have empty physical disks.

Is it not possible to use virtual disks ?

Hi,

yes but they have to be min 32GB.

But keep in mind if your storage is to slow the osd-daemon will stop.

I'm running a nested 3 node Proxmox/Ceph cluster with 9 virtual 10GB drives/OSD's on a single node Proxmox/Ceph cluster with a bunch of old 320GB drives without problems. Performance is terrible offcourse, but for a simple test environment for a proof of concept before buying all the needed hardware it's fine.
