Hi everyone,

i'm very new to homelabbing but have previous tech experience. I just finished setting up proxmox but can't access the web gui. I would really appreciate any help. My router isn't even seeing the proxmox server as a client.

Did it boot successfully, ie do you see Shell prompt on the monitor?
Can you login to PVE from physical keyboard and monitor?
Can you type "ip a" and examine the output? Look for interface, such as ens* or eth* that states that its UP and contains an IP address.
What are the IP addresses involved?
Can you ping from your Windows workstation to your PVE? What about the other way?

Hi, thank you very much for your help!
1. I'm able to boot
2. When I type IP a this is what I get:

3. Both devices are unable to ping one another

Thank you again,

What are the IP addresses of each devices involved? (Client, Router, PVE).
Can you provide "ipconfig /all" or "ip a" from the client? Please use CODE tags for easier reading.
Can you provide " arp -n" from PVE? Also from your workstation, if using windows "arp -a".
On PVE execute "curl -sk https://192.168.100.2:8006|grep -i title" - what is the output?
Can you ssh into PVE from your client?

5. ssh wouldn't connect

thanks for your help!
I've attached the reply above.
For some reason arp wouldn't run on pve. It resulted in command not found

Your PVE host is not on 192.168.0 , it is on 192.168.100 as evidenced in your "ip a" output, and later curl command I asked you to run.
To communicate in a simple non-routed network all hosts must be on the same subnet.

Thanks for your help. I changed the ip and restarted and its all working! I'm able to connect to the gui, but when connected to a monitor it still says the old ip, is this a problem?
