Cannot login as admin

I have been running my media server under Proxmox since last version. Today i find that the power went out so i had to restart the server this morning. No problem. However when PAM login comes up admin password is not recognized. I putty'd to server with root and login. All seems to have come back up ok. i go to PAM page and try login with admin. No joy. Have tried multiple previous passwords and no luck. Anyone else experiencing this? I have seen similar posting about admin login problems but nothing identical to this.

Using root to login into webUI also doesn't work? Or do you mean the root account when talking about "admin". Because by default PVE doesn't come with an "admin" user.

You could also check if all pve services are running and if your root filesystem is completely full, which both also could prevent logins.

I was able to SSH to the server and login as root and reset the root password.
I rebooted and was able to login on PAM as root with the new password and do an update. I don't know if the power outage had corrupted something but it seems to be working with the new password. Disaster averted.
