New user here. I am testing different hypervisors for use at home and have been liking proxmox until I tried to install Ubuntu.

Maybe I have this wrong in my mind but I have installed 4 times and getting "no bootable device" at boot after I remove the install media.

Is there a way I can find the installation files and get the VM to use them for boot?... I sort of expected this to happen automatically...

SCSI Controller is VirtIO SCSI Single, and hard drive is scsi0 local-lvm:vm-100-disk-0, iothread=1,size=256GB.

I found it, under options boot order was set to net0. Not totally sure why this was set but I put it to scsi0 and it works!

When you "mess" with the disks, ie remove/add/change , the disk that no longer exists (ie ide) is remove from the boot list. However, new disks are not added automatically. So the only boot device left is the one that was in the list originally during creation of VM. If you significantly change your VM composition as it relates to boot devices, you need to go back to option as update the boot order.
