Hi all,

During the installation of proxmox mail gateway(free version),it stops after Detecting network settings by throwing an error message "\n Installation aborted -unable to continue(type exit or CTRL-D to reboot).
Have anyone of you come across the weird problem..Please tell me how to go about this.
Thanks in advance

../cheers

Looks like your graphic card is not vesa 2.0 compatible, so the installer is not able to switch to graphics mode (1024x768, 65535 Colors).

We only support vesa 2.0 compatible graphic cards (most cards are vesa 2.0 compatible).

Best Regards,

Dietmar

Hi!

Same problem with two PCs wtih following graphics:

S3 Trio64 - maybe is old
Intel 815G - but this? Works fine in Win2K at 1024x768x16

Hi
Is it exactly the same error message?
The S3 Trio64 is realy out of date.
About the Intel 815G:
Which Hardware is it exactly? MB, NIC,RAM,..
Did you try to disable the onboard graphic an add some newer graphic card?
Regards, Michael Pilz

Yes, exactly the same error at the same point: detecting network setting, done, screen blinks, like tryes to set another mode, back and display this message.

Hardware: something on Intel 815G (Fujitsu-Siemens brand, no more details), P3-733, 256MB RAM (2 to video without manual selection), 2NICs: 3Com 905-TX and something on SMC chip. One of them or both - the same.

External graphics: of couse, I though about, but right now nothing is available.

Can you provide full Hardware Capability List?

Hi
To provide a full Hardware Capability List is not possible apr. 100.000 items.(1 cheap AGP card which is compatible ATI Rage XL)
Try newer Hardware. Check out Products - Mail Gateway - Certified Hardware

OK, "not" means "not" :)

With external AGP card I've installed Proxmox.
Just after boot prompt installer has passed into graphics mode (before it remained in text-mode), successfully installs and then boots with onboard graphics.
Will I need VESA2-board more? Seems, it needs only on setup stage... Web-based setup works fine, let's test :)

Hi
Happy testing :D
Yes you are right, we desided to use a graphic installer, so in the setup stage the graphic card must be compatible.
To run the Proxmox Mail Gateway there is no need to check the graphic card again.
