i recently settled on trying to make a homelab centered around proxmox and have run into a snag. The ultimate goal is to have a storage server/nas vm as well as run a Windows 10 vm with gpu passthrough for the few utilities that dont carry over to linux. But for today I cannot even get proxmox to install I cannot find the internal network card.

My components are:

MSI B460 Mortar

Intel 10100

Rx 560 2gb.

The integrated Nic on the mother board uses the RTL8125B. I have gone into debug mode and installed the firmware-realtek_*.deb package, but cannot get the installation to continue afterwards.

I have also tried installing debian (suffers from the same NIC issue) with the intention of adding proxmox repos later. The firmware-realtek package doesnt get network function working though. Even after adding the package and configureing /etc/network/interfaces, I still cannot see the NIC.

I am kind of stumped now, any help is appreciated. Thank you

bump with some more info:

Using debian for now with the intent of installing proxmox on top once I get the NIC working. I have installed the firmware-realtek*.deb package from the debian repos via usb and still cannot see the NIC. I have tried blacklisting the r8169 module, but still no joy. NIC still not showing up at all

dmesg | grep 8125 returns nothing but as I am typing here I thought of a few more things to check dmesg for. Let me know if you can think of any.

Once again thanks in advance, any help is appreciated
