Morning everyone,

Very new to ProxMox and VM's in general.
I've managed to get a few VM's up and running, 2 of them being TrueNAS and a Windows 10 Installation.

I have managed to get the TrueNAS storage mapped to my VM Windows machine as a network drive.

But when I try and do a similar thing from my regular home computer, I cannot find/access that drive/location.
Now my knowledge on network drives and what "Folder" to use are beyond me, but I have tried the following, as well as variations of the following:
\\192.168.10.162\
\\TrueNAS\

On the VM with windows loaded, I can also access the "TrueNAS" network location by simply going to Network>TRUENAS>TrueNAS.

But on my home computer, I can't even connect to \\TRUENAS.
I can see it in my network, but cannot access it the same way.

I've spend a day or two researching, but coming up short unfortunately.
Would appreciate some guidance and understanding of how to get it to work.

Typically your home router network would be setup as 192.168.1.x (or possibly 0.x) - are you on the same subnet as the VM?

If you can't ping the VM then it could be a firewall issue. If you have VM firewalled, try disabling that 1st on the Proxmox side and then see if you can ping the VM

Post results of ' ipconfig /all ' on Windows side

Code:
C:\Users\calvi>ping 192.168.10.200

    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 0ms, Maximum = 0ms, Average = 0ms

C:\Users\calvi>ping 192.168.10.162

Pinging 192.168.10.162 with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 192.168.10.162: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=64

That's the results from pinging the box (10.200) and the TrueNAS VM (10.162)

I know 192.168.1.x and 192.168.0.x are the normal ones, but for some reason my network has been this way since I got the fiber years ago.

I can't recall what is sensitive info or not, so just removed what didn't seem relevant:
