Can you revert to a snapshot on shutdown?

Hi,

VMware Workstation and ESXI let you revert to a snapshot when a machine shuts down

• Workstation (I can't post the link - but if you Google for "VMware Workstation Take or Revert to a Snapshot at Power Off", it's one of the first links)
• ESXi (If you Google for "VMware vSphere 4 - ESX and vCenter Server Reverting Snapshots" it's one of the first links).

Does Proxmox have similar functionality?

If I recall correctly, this is called 'kiosk mode' and unfortunately, this is not implemented in PVE. It is a nice feature though. Maybe you should file a feature request.

You can do it manually or write a script to do that, but it is not available in the GUI

Yes the feature is called kiosmode. I've filled out an feature request a time ago: https://bugzilla.proxmox.com/show_bug.cgi?id=894
And yes it is working at proxmox fine, but only if you set the option in the vmconfig.
