Can I pass through a block device to an LXC?

I know this has been asked many times in the past but the solution I found involved mounting the block device to a folder within the LXC.
My requirement is different though, I'm trying to run OpenMediaVault within the LXC and this assumes storage to be a disk otherwise the whole OMV GUI logic falls apart.

After reading so many articles I appreciate things changed few times so I prefer to post this message to get an advise.
