I know it's in preview currently but I can't find out how to set this up so I can't preview it. Is this intended just for the promox host root itself or for containers and vm/s like we can use zfs local etc. Under the disk section I see the lvm, lvm-thin, directory ..zfs but no btrfs. I have a 2tb drive that I'd like to try and use btrfs on it for vm and container data. Sda is new and has nothing on it right now..I only initialized it via the gui with gpt. I found this documentation but it looks like the installer did this for the host during install...but can I manually achieve this with the commands? I'm curious why there's no btrfs creation in the gui as it seems like it's only for the host install of proxmox? My goal is to try snapshot speeds, thin provisioning and dedup for vm and container data as opposed to lvm thin which I normally use.

Hi,
yes, there is no GUI/API support for BTRFS creation yet. For now, it has to be done manually, but the article you linked to describes how to set it up in the BTRFS Administration section. Just make sure to use the correct drive letter!
