Hi,

I have a question regarding the bonding of interfaces. I have searched all over but not fing a lot of info on balance-xor. I have a managed switch that I aggregated 2 ports with type LACP and set up a bond on proxmox with 2 network adapters using balance-xor. but as soon as the bond is up my local network struglles to get through to the vms on the proxmox. a ping test reveals between 50 % and 90% packet loss.

any ideas on why this might occur ?

all the vms use the e1000 interface and the latest intel divers are installed.

Thanks :)

Hi,

if you configure LACP on your switch, you should use 802.3ad as bonding mode. If you want to use balance-xor on Proxmox, then I think you should configure your bonded ports on your switch as trunks, but no LACP mode.
