Hello,

I have the same kind of trouble. I made a migration from Xen to proxmox v2.1. The images was on img format, so i convert them to qcow2 format, with the following command :
qemu-img convert <image_name.img> -O qcow2 <new_image_name.qcow2>

The convertion works find and I was able to start my vm. But when I restart my vm (for maintenance), I can't log on them.

When the vm starts I can see the BIOS and the boot drive selection menu but them, the screen stay black and the vm seems freezing. The QM tool says that the vm is running but I can't see anything else.

Thank you for answer me quickly.

Hi!

I also had the same problem and solved it by changing the display model.

I chose "VMWare compatible" instead of the "default" and it worked

Hope it works for you!

Regards
