FWIW; The Intel Alder Lake generation benefits from much faster DDR5 memory, which is always a bit a bottleneck, so currently that'd probably the most performant CPUs for desktop/workstation maybe some homelab stuff too:

This isn't exactly a gaming forum, albeit some use Proxmox VE to host a Gaming VM too, so what's your use case?
