Dear community,
Now, high available clusters like a proxmox cluster, kubernetes cluster, ceph cluster, docker swarm etcetera all work great locally on the same LAN. However, spreading those nodes in different geographical regions is not recommended. Hence, it is often recommended to have a cluster of clusters instead of one cluster that has nodes geographically spread. Therefore, I am wondering what would be the best method to replicate data and databases over WAN ? would this be rsync ? lsyncd ? Ceph ? Syncthing etcetera. What would be the most reliable and what is the best comparable to the methods big cloud service providers use ? As an example I would like to host a nextcloud instance where the database and datastore is replicated accross regions for high availability.
Thank you!!
