Best Hardware for Storage System up to 16TB ?

I am searching a storage up to 16TB, is that possible with Proxmox as Host ?

Any Hardwaresuggestions (Server, Raidcontroller, HDD...) ?

Do you know a good Storagesoftware with webbased Managementinterface ?

up to 16 TB? or less? Why are you asking specifically that?

I have two qnap nas with nfs and iscsi, one with 8x1.5 tb and the other 7x2 tb. working perfectly (not the fastest in the world, but they are pretty flexible, and work for me).

yes, I also think about to use a nas but how can I do a TapeBackup of the storage ?

it could not be difficult, but it depends on your tape backup software.
if it can backup mounted folders, you storage is there, on every node.

and, if it is nfs based, you can mount that on any other host (even windows should be possible) to back it up.

You don't say what your budget is, but Synology's line of NAS devices are pretty good. They have a great web interface and setup is a snap.
