Hi everyone, I’m new here so apologies in advance if I say anything silly.
I’d like to build or buy a server running Proxmox, and install a Windows 10 virtual machine on it. I need it to run a cardiac imaging software called cvi42 (by Circle Cardiovascular Imaging — latest version), and I want the system to be as smooth and responsive as possible, so I’ll need a dedicated GPU.
Any advice on a good setup that doesn’t cost a fortune?

Welcome!

I am familiar with this software so there are definitely many nuances. Do you need to run the server and the client or just the client?

Below are the requirements from the vendor, I would always start there and view their compatibility matrix if it exists.

It seems like a decent Nvidia xx50 or xx60 would do the trick, 10 series and above. As far as RAM/CPU etc I would double whatever they're asking for combined server/client, which would be 64GB RAM minimum. If it's just the client you want to run, 32GB seems to be enough.

Take all this with a grain of salt as without understanding your workflow and other nuances these are all generic recommendations. Your best bet would be to ask the vendor specifically "Will this setup work for xyz"
