Newbie here, so please bear with me.
I'm sure this question has already been asked countless times, however a quick forum search only brought results about multiple disks and raid controllers.

For node(s) with a single disk (either HDD or SDD), what is best: ext4/LVM-Thin or ZFS? What the pros and cons for each?

ZFS can replicate the VMs.
Snapshots are available for both.
What other considerations should I take into account?

Thank you to all who will help a PVE beginner!

This depends on your hardware, usecase, your requirements, regarding dataloss protection, whether you want to setup a cluster or not and what filesystem features you would like to use or not. ZFS is way more flexible and has other goodies ( filesystem kevel compression is just one example) but they have a price ( in costs and performance depending on your hardware)
