Hi there.

I read a post on this forum about this subject, bandwidth management, and you mentioned at the time you'd think about it for version 2.x.
Does that still stand?
Because I'm really starting to need it, even just a few front-end options for tc would be great. It's the only thing I really miss on ProxmoxVE and I'd love if you guys could put something together a little sooner.

Regards

We need to implement other things first.

Bandwidth Management options:

XOR one suggestion would be to please a bandwidth manager above stream before your server.

This can be done pretty simple.

there is a debian how to there - I suggest the opensource free version :-)

Thanks for the suggestion but I just learned how to use tc.
Which actually lead me to another question. How do I automatically move my tc scripts when I decide to migrate a vm? But I'll just post this on another thread. =)

With Hypervm in big trouble I can imagine bandwidth management is becoming priority for Proxmox? It's the lack of this which made me having both Hypervm and Proxmox in a mixed environment.

I'd actually prefer user bandwidth graphs right now, managing the bandwidth I can handle, displaying it is a little more complicated.

I know about rrdtools, and cacti which uses rrdtools to display those graphs, however cacti uses snmp, and I just downright don't want to have to manage a snmp server. That and I'd have to integrate cacti into the rest of the site, which would be a pain.

In fact, to be a bit more general, I'd just prefer user management, I guess it would include those graphs, and perhaps even a simple ticket system, which is also on my list of things to get working.

And again I know of plenty of pieces of software that do user management, but integrating them is a pain, and just leaving them as stand alones is very ugly.

I can not imagine my clients having to log into 3 different interfaces to manage their accounts.

Can you give me a hint on how you do bandwidthmanagement? Since what I need is more complex than only limit it per vps. What we need is max Gbytes per month with alert when reaching it.

To have graphs I think you can only use software like Cacti or similar. I think you need to monitor per virtual interface.
