Bad switch bad after Proxmox

Hi,

New to Proxmox. First time install. Realized by ipaddress i set for proxm was already taken so I manually changed it in the host file and interfaces file. After that connected to an old cisco rv260 router I previously had reconfigured into a switch with its dhcp off. This is connected into another switch and been stable for a while. Thing is as soon as the Proxmox server boots up connected to cisco switch my network crashes and loose internet. Only solution I found was to disconnect or shutdown the Cisco switch. So something must be conflicting with dns or something like that. Note have not gone past basic installation and have no vms running yet. Wonder where is the conflict and how to fix?

old cisco rv260 router I previously had reconfigured into a switch with its dhcp off

even without dhcp, it have its own ip even multiple when VLAN.
Double check cisco router ip(s), and don't call it "switch" even if it's not the dhcp server.

Well I used a network analyzer app on my iphone to get a map of all the ip addresses on my network and tried two different free ip addresses. Have had a few other devices running off of the dhcp-less cisco router including a synology nas without issues. Not sure if its the host name or dns address. Not sure.

you need to be sure what is the ip of the cisco.

Think I have this figured out. Think it was the Antivirus!!!

Firewall blocking the logon!!

Was crazy. Was having the hardest time finding the ip address of the cisco router and no matter what I couldn't find it.
I tried in Windows typing 'ARP -a', going into my main routers console to see list of connected devices and nothing until
I went into the Eset Antivirus network map and clicked the detail showing that the dhcp-less cisco router was there but blocked!

Feel stupid. Waste half the day.

Always blame the Antivirus!
