Since a few month a using proxmox "with ZFS" also as datastorage. Works really fine. I use Proxmox VM Backup, and i use Backuppc for filebackups, and also Backuppc vor archive files on external Storage.

So i read about zfs that it es there own tools: http://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/PVE-zsync
In the wiki read that is only available with ssh. So i can't sync the whole machine with USB3.0? So i'am right when i say for this feature i need another device with ZFS like Proxmox or Solaris with the same diskspace?

Or have zfs another nice feature to backup data that is a good idea to use. What is with snapshot on an dataset? Not really or? Saves only the changes.

Thanks and best regards

If you have a large enough disk attached via usb there should be no problem formatting it with ZFS then using send/recv to copy the data. I do this on some FreeBSD machines I have in production. I have not done this with PVE.
