Backup LVM-thin partition to external HDD ?

Hello,

I am setting up a local backup with a simple USB external HDD. I can very easily backup all my nodes but not the data on LVM-thin partitions that are mounted to them.
For example I have a Nextcloud and would like to backup the LVM-Thin Nextcloud partition and possibility incrementally.
My containers are small, the biggest takes up to 1.5gb but most of them are around 300mb and all of them are backed up every-night completely.
But now some of my containers have bigger storage mounted to them and I would like to incrementally backup those storages to my external HDD.

Is this possible ? Can I use Proxmox to do it or should I setup a whole new system ?

I'm not sure I understand. You can use vzdump to backup disk images stored in LVM-Thin just like any other storage type, which would allow you to store in on the external HDD.

vzdump does not support incremental backups though. There is no native proxmox tool that does this, unfortunately.

The root disk of this node is backed up but I would like to backup the mp0 which is where the next cloud data are stored. It's not part of the image itself but only a mounted disk.

Not with Proxmox directly. For this we use BackupPC. Here is our working package for backuppc4 for Ubuntu on us repository. http://apt.iteas.at/
