backup live demo

hello all
is there a live demo for the backup solution of proxmox ?
i am between the proxmox backup solution and symantec backup exec (i am very happy with synantec)
the question i have in mind:
1. email backup ?
2. sql backup ?
3. Fileserver backup ?
4. dedup ?
5. restore of single files ?
6. restore of whole VM (i expect this works just like a charm)

for me its important that single files in a windows/linux VM can be restored. is that possible ? how does it looks with sql ? does it backup each database (a single customer) or the whole database (for all customer) ? can i restore the single sql ? does it set the archive flag ?

Hi,

no there is no live demo, but since the backup server is completely open source, you can simply download and install it on a test server, and play around with it.
To your questions:

1. email backup ?
2. sql backup ?

there is no application aware backup for now, it only can backup proxmox ve vms/container and normaly filesystems with the proxmox-backup-client

3. Fileserver backup ?

yes, with a file backup with proxmox-backup-client

4. dedup ?

yes, backups are fully deduplicated across a datastore

5. restore of single files ?

yes this works. for vm backups and encrypted backups this needs to be done on proxmox ve, not the backup server itself
