Got some serious questions about backuping.
Imaging a Proxmox serwer with 4xVM and 8x small LXC
I have - ZFS zpool and zfs volumes there:
rpool/subvol-100-disk1 - 30GB
rpool/subvol-100-disk2 - 1TB
rpool/subvol-101-disk1 - 10GB
rpool/subvol-102-disk1 - 2TB
rpool/subvol-104-disk1 - 500GB
For example machine 104:
The backup proces of machine 104 to network storage takes about - 3-4h with lzo packing.
I set in vzdump.conf: size:4000 and ionice:2. It really does it work. I never had a problem with that.
But when it comes to recovery this time 3-4h is not acceptable for me.
Is it possible to make a backup without vma packing ?
I am trying to make a situation when I can run another machine, create new VM and mount a backup image/disk/volume directly from network storage.
Is it possible? How to do that in "the right way"?
