I have taken over a proxmox box (5.4.3) hosted at a colo and need to get a round a backup issue temporally during the lockdown as will be fitting some bigger drives at a later date. The Server has 2 x 1tb ssd drives in zfs and is attached to a synology where they are storing the data via NFS. It's running 2 lxc's of around 500gb each.
I have tried backing up to the NFS each night but the backup takes way too long some 12 hours. I have sent a 2tb usb drive for now to the colo and mounted this but still takes around 11 hours. The biggest issue is it won't do snap shots so does take the machines offline and I can't have this. What can I do with the usb drive so we can backup to this for now with snap shots. Sorry bit of a novice here
