I have 2x2TB in RAID1, total 1 disk.

Im moving to a new machine so I wish to back up my VM's and CT's..

However, when I attempt to back up a container/VM It does not list any storages and thus I cant continue.

How can I back up into the same 2TB disk which my CT's and VM's also use? Basically saying there is nothing in "Storage" dropdown menu. I'm using Proxmox VE 4.2

Any help is greatly appreciated.

on datacenter -> storage
you can edit your storages and add the type Backup to content
then you can choose that storage as a backup target

btw. it would be good to update ;)

I'm using OVH as my provider, so it's up to them xD

Maybe they'll put the V4.3 up before my migration of systems happens. Speaking of which, are v4.2 backups compatible with the new v4.3?

And thanks for the help.

what do you mean by this?
you can definitely update, regardless where your host is, in the webinterface under node-> update

just make sure you have the right repositories configured (see https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Package_Repositories)

and yes, the backups are compatible
