Hi guys,

I just got some Samsung PM943 1.92 TB NVMe drives. Will install latest PM on them with ZFS in RAID 10.
Now I wonder, should I use ashift 13 when creating ZFS pool and then 8k block size when defining storage in PM or..?

I guess people can answer faster than I can do benchmarks, ... :-) so this forum post.

For best performance you usually want the bocksize ashift * striped vdevs when using raid10. So wih 8k (=13) ashift and 4 disk in raid10 your volblocksize should be 16K. If that makes sense depends on your workload. For example wouldn`t be a great idea if you plan to run some postresql DBs doing 8K IO.
