I am using an APC Smart-UPS 750 as UPS for my current (non PVE, non-Linux) server. It is as simple as connecting the UPS to the USB of the machine and the OS does the rest (like shutdown when the UPS runs out of power).

I found this for UPS on Linux (including Debian). https://wiki.debian.org/apcupsd but that warns about systemd versus initd. https://www.brunweb.de/configuration-of-an-apc-ups-under-proxmox/ is an English translation of an original German entry from 2013.

Anyone using an APC Smart-UPS on a PVE Debian? Are these instructions still valid?
