Another (noob) button question

If I Choose 'shutdown' from the interface, is that the same as shutting a machine down from its prompt (shutdown -h now)?

And if thats the case, is 'Stop' the equivalent of pulling the plug?

If it does not work like this, what exactly do both options do with a container or KVM?

Shutdown: send an ACPI shutdown request - any ACPI aware VM should cleanly shutdown the vm.

Stop: pull the plug
