Hi,
I read some threads in this forum about the discussion of the mentioned topic. I wonder if it is so, that LinBit is - because of the license change in 2016 - considered to be trustworthy no longer and thus the software is avoided, because it may happen again?
I like DRBD and I am using it with Proxmox. And of course I know: If I want support for it I may go to linbit itself if I like to use DRBD 9. But I'd love to see it integrated.
Regards,
George
P. S.: I can not post the references for the statements, because I'm not allowed as a new user to post external urls.
- LinBit chose to set a restricting license for drbdmanage in 10/2016
- Proxmox chose to no longer actively integrate non-free technology
- LinBit reverted the license of drbdmanage to GPLv3 little later (according to german wikipedia and stated in github repository for drbdmanage)
- Does the Proxmox Team consider to include DRBD 9 again, or will it never in for the Proxmox Team?
