After Proxmox 8 to 9 upgrade, system boots into BIOS

I just upgraded to Proxmox 9 on my Lenovo M720q. The system starts, the GRUB loader appears once, and then the computer reboots directly into the boot menu.
GRUB does not show any error messages, and UEFI is enabled in the BIOS.
What could be the issue?

I’ve encountered a similar situation before. After a migration, GRUB can sometimes boot on the previous Linux kernel, which usually results in an error message—though that isn’t what you’re seeing but You should be able to enter the GRUB → Advanced Options menu and manually select the most recent kernel (or any kernel that you know works).
