hi

i have tried to disable ipv6 but ended up with wasted hrs on the various recommendations on how to do it correctly
...

a) recommedned entries with disable 1 or two lines conf:

/etc/sysctl.d/70-disable-ipv6.conf
net.ipv6.conf.all.disable_ipv6 = 1
(#)net.ipv6.conf.default.disable_ipv6 = 1

b) kernel parameter

c) etc.

nothing really worked and lead to random nic experiences (Ping/dhcp files ..) sometimes working .. :/

This error keeps popping up every 20 seconds in the log file ...
pve-firewall[1517]: status update error: iptables_restore_cmdlist: Try `ip6tables-restore -h' or 'ip6tables-restore --help' for more information.
=> Mind you firewall is disabled in the option of the server and also the datacenter ....

I have now decided to "revert back the ipv6 changes an go forward on the release ..
so I
=> updated from 8.4 => 9.1 overwriting the kernel parameters set in grub and my strategy ois now to go back to normal OK
=> remove both lines from the conf file above

Aftre reboot the firewall has the interesting status:
"disabled/running" (no comment ;)
but also a "pve-firewall stop" and pve-firewall status with finally Status: disabled/stopped
did not change anything about the error messages ...

I have searched this forum and even desperately consulted ai but neither helped ;)
anyone out here who can?

THX a Bunch ;)
