Hi,

I got these error messages constantly flooding my journalctl:

Code:
Oct 26 09:09:03 proxmox kernel: pcieport 0000:00:1d.0: AER: Correctable error message received from 0000:00:1d.0
Oct 26 09:09:03 proxmox kernel: pcieport 0000:00:1d.0: PCIe Bus Error: severity=Correctable, type=Physical Layer, (Receiver ID)
Oct 26 09:09:03 proxmox kernel: pcieport 0000:00:1d.0: device [8086:a330] error status/mask=00000001/00002000
Oct 26 09:09:03 proxmox kernel: pcieport 0000:00:1d.0: [ 0] RxErr (First)

lspci:

Code:

        Capabilities: [250] Downstream Port Containment
        Kernel driver in use: pcieport

Does anyone know what could be the cause of this?
I've came across this reddit post, describing the same on proxmox. However not much more info is available there.

My system is a dell optiplex 3060 with a i5 8500.

I've came across a post which suggested to add GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet pcie_aspm=off" in /etc/default/grub.

I've just tried it and the flooding in journalctl seems to be gone, however i'm unsure if that command actually 'fixes' anything or just suppresses these logs.

I just noticed i didn't mention what kernel i'm on.

Code:
Linux proxmox 6.8.12-2-pve #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC PMX 6.8.12-2 (2024-09-05T10:03Z) x86_64 GNU/Linux

Edit: nevermind, just found out that adding this command to grub actually disables pcie aspm (Active State Power Management),
effectively disabling low power state, which was probably the issue.
