Hi,
I was searching through the forum and the proxmox wiki information about VPN server. I want to build VPN Server to connect to servers that are already running inside a hypervisor. The whole idea is supposed to work inside a corporate networlk. So I have a Proxmox with one external IP and a few internal IPs like 172.16.16.0. I would like a client from the coporate Network to have a VMware Virtual Machine. This virtual machine, with win7, should act as a part of the network inside the hypervisor and have some internal IP like 172.16.16.54. Is there a best practice for this problem? I see two options, but neither of them works.
First, installing a VPN Container with turnkey OpenVPN Linux inside the Hypervisor. The problem here is I do not know how to cofigure it, especially how to configure the domain for the VPN. I have only one external host name and one IP.
The second option is to use NPS directly in the windows VM. This should make it easier to manage User Accounts for clients, but it seems it is not very widely accepted. Here is also the same question how to build the NAT connection from VMware to the Hypervisor, so that all machines stay in the same domain inside the hypervisor. Thanks for your help in advance
