Hi all,

So I am thinking about disaster recovery and wandered how you all managed. In particular, if I have a 2 node cluster using DRDB (http://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/DRBD) and I decide to take one node down for management, what technologies (preferably open source software!) are there to automatically carry the IP across.

As I understand it, if my VM uses bridged mode with an external IP that IP is still routed *through* (i.e. not onto) the physical server so I need to indicate that it should go through the second node right?

All of this is based upon me manually migrating the virtual machine. Is it possible to automate that? For example to use DRDB to sync the VM config. If I get a call saying 'oh poo node 1 has disintegrated and all the RAID disks are burning' then having the machine images on the second node is great, but I would still need to reconstruct the VM meta-data right?

Any thoughts/comments are welcome.
