Hi,
I need advice on following setup:
Planned (among others):
SAMBA VZ to provide shares of iSCSI LUNs
Main concerns:
Idea:
Convert XFS on iSCSI LUNs to OCFS2
I would be glad to hear how others do setups like mine. Also any thinks and thoughts about my idea would be appreciated.
Regards
Ralf
I need advice on following setup:
- 2x Proxmox server need to access one NAS
- NAS has 4 GbE NICs with only one connected at the moment
- NAS is setup to provide iSCSI LUNs
- Filesystem on LUNs is XFS
- NAS currently provides a couple of SAMBA shares
Planned (among others):
SAMBA VZ to provide shares of iSCSI LUNs
- global shares
- user home directories _with_ quota
Main concerns:
- tape backup of NAS affects share bandwidth thus allowing me only to drive backups at night
- XFS is capable of quota but SIMFS on VZ container seems to support only ext3 (as far as I read somewhere)
Idea:
Convert XFS on iSCSI LUNs to OCFS2
- OCFS2 supports quota
- OCFS2 is accessible from multiple servers
- OCFS2 quota support seems not to be supported in VZ (found somewhere here in forum)
I would be glad to hear how others do setups like mine. Also any thinks and thoughts about my idea would be appreciated.
Regards
Ralf
