Advice on best setup of Proxmox environment with multiple Nics on our Hosts and NAS

Hello,

I'm very new to using Proxmox and just begun setting up my environment.

We have two Dell 710 servers each with 8 Nics in them. In the past we used VMware Server 2.0 and assigned our important VM's their own Nic card. We have two Servers running SQL database and wanted to ensure access to those VM's were not impacted by traffic to other VM's. Not sure if that is the right thing to do, but it worked for us.

In addition to our two Dell 710's we also have 1 QNAP NAS setup with NFS. This NAS has 2 GB nics and can be expanded to have 4 in total.

Now that we are moving to Proxmox and want to introduce our QNAP device to run VM's from, I'd like you advice on what we should do with these 8 Nics and our VM's. What should we do with all these Nics? Should we assign our most important SQL VM's their own NIC? Or should we just use bridging and let Proxmox handle the throughput.

I don't think our network switch can handle bonding so that probably isn't an option right now.

Thank you.
