I have an HA cluster (with CEPH) that I would like to add a few of my standalone Proxmox hosts to for simplified management (one console) and the benefit of quickly migrating without the hassle of backups/restores. Presently running 8.1-1 on all hosts. Are there any gotchas? Do I need to worry about quorum? Is there any way to get what I'm accomplishing without encroaching on the HA setup I have? Thanks!

Do I need to worry about quorum?
Assuming you already have quorum presently, i.e.: an odd number of nodes, make sure you only add an even number of additional nodes, so as to maintain this situation.
So you can add 2,4,6 etc. but not 1,3,5 etc.
You could always consider adding a Qdevice, if you really need an additional odd number of nodes.

Copy that. I do have an even number actually. Any other concerns? Do I need to worry about VM's in the HA attempting to failover to non-HA hosts?

To prevent guest migration to any node, you will have to make ha-groups for the 3 HA nodes exclusively.
There is info in the wiki on how to do this, here. Keep reading the whole section all the way & into "Groups".
There's also info on this forum, just search for it.
