Hi again,
I cannot for the life of me add a network storage (Synology in my case) to the Jellyfin LXC.
I have createad and mounted it, as NFS, and path seems to transfer along /volume2/video etc.
Also pops up in Jellyfin gui, but nothing happens with the lib-update. It's just not finding any sub-catalog's or anything called movies.
There is not a simple step by step guide on how to add these things??
Please help :(

search for lxc and nfs - there are things to pay attention which depends on privileged and unprivileged container.

I've found this, but still amazed that everyone is loving/promoting Proxmox but there are people spending days on fixing stuff that should be standard in the OS.
Thanks though

u forgot the link.

u mean the nfs mount? in a VM it works normal, but lxc is a special environment where things can go crazy. This problem depends on the character of container itself and not on proxmox. proxmox its so lovely because of the mass of possibilities it offers according to other solutions.

Installed VM with Ubuntu (portainer) and then Jellyfin. NFS share works like a charm, just install volume and it can find the movies.

Then I try LXC with Ubuntu, install Jellyfin / Also tried Turnkey LXC. (Priviliged)
Cannot mount the NFS share into a LXC.

Instructions are many, but nothing works or is not explaining what I should write where, and why? Instructions not detailed / explainatory enough for me :(

Hi Ernst, I'm sorry but I do not know what you mean by these two ? How do I install and activate such things? :D
For the NFS feature: PVE webUI -> YourPrivilegedLXC -> Options -> Features -> enable "NFS" feature
For "nfs-common" you then need to install it like you would install every other package. For example by running apt update && apt install nfs-common inside your privileged Ubuntu LXC.

Is this the same for a VM ?

The nfs-common part, yes. VMs don't have a NFS feature. There NFS always works s it got its own kernel and doesn't have to fight with the host for privileges.

And after I do this, should it work or how do I make sure the LXC takes the path?

You still need to somehow mount that NFS share. Fstab, systemd, autofs, mount command or whatever you like to use for that.
