It would be a very nice feature to have in the proxmox installer an option to select a default VM storage type. Either setup thin-lvm or non thin-lvm [just regular qcow2 files on top of a ext4 filesystem]. Even though thin-lvm vm storage type provides a small performance then just storing qcow2 files on ext4 filesystem [example: using ssds], the convenience of having qcow2 files on top a filesystem provides some of the following benefits..

1) direct access to the filesystem to access the qcow2 files
2) Allow to add ISO images to the same storage type as the vm images[cant do that with thin-lvm]
3) Possibility to enable NFS Server on proxmox server to share the qcow2 files for easier access to the vm image files.
4) Having to manually check the metadata size doesn't get too big is annoying.
5) Makes it easier to copy/restore vm images in case of a disaster.

It would be nice to have an 'option' for that in the installer. It's very annoying having to install proxmox and then manually destroy/resizing the vm storage lvm, reformatting it with ext4 and then manually changing the storage type in the UI.
