Good day everyone

I have a problem and am going to try to explain it.

I have a server with 2 raid controllers, a dell h730 and a h330, the proxmox is defective on the h730 (6x 2t in raid 6)
Now I want to add the h330 to proxmox (8x 256 GB SSD) in raid 5 and add it to vm 100.

I've googled like hell but can't find anywhere how to do this, can anyone tell me how to do this ‍♀️.

sorry for my bad english it's not my native language

Thanks in advance for all the answers

I think this depends how your Raid-device "Presents" itself to the PVE-Linux system? Is it just one /dev/xyz? I would assume its a Hardware-RAID? Its very likely that you would need this device as a "common datastore" in PVE like then like any other drive (e.g. the various options you have - LVM, Directory, ZFS etc.). Then you have the datastore with the Hardware RAID-5 "Underneath" it. And then you assign the VM 100 to it.

Dell h310+h330 are cacheless, fun and raid-useless ctrl's as the pve kernel driver didn't see raidsets from anymore in v8.*.

h730 + h730p (more cache than h730) are quiet cheap as used hw if you want hw-raid. If you want zfs a hba would do (don't know name but maybe is hba330 ??).
