Activate PBS subscription

Hello,

I usually install PBS on top of PVE using the package repositories. Fist setup the no subscription repos and install the packages, then add subscription either via cli or webUI and then enable the enterprise repo.

Is there any way to install PBS directly using the enterprise repository? That is, is there a way to activate the subscription from cli before installing the packages? the binary proxmox-backup-manager is packaged within "proxmox-backup-server".

Although it's not the recommended setup to install PBS on PVE or manually on the host, your mentioned procedure is the way to go.

Just don't forget to comment out the 'pbs-no-subscription' repo afterwards. After a few weeks all package versions will have catched up and you get the used amount of updates. Of course, possible security updates are available without delay.
